Best Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

The best method to keep your home tidy is with a robot vacuum. It will pick up dust, pet hair and other particles on the surface.

Some robots are able to sync with smart assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant for a hands-free experience. Find models that can be recharged and continue cleaning the area they left.

1. iRobot s8

This smart robot mop and vacuum is an excellent option for households with a variety of. It vacuums and mops well and has a great navigation system that includes both GPS and laser sensors and comes with a variety of features and controls that are accessible via the app. It comes with a useful feature which allows you to create Cleaning zones in areas that require additional attention, as well as Keep Out zones in areas where you do not want it to go. It's not as reliable in detecting pet waste, or other hazards.

2. Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While the Anker-owned Eufy has earned an impact in budget robot vacuums, it hasn't previously offered an all-in-one model that can also mop. This is changing with the X8 Hybrid, which has an impressive array of modern features that can compete with more expensive models.

Eufy's main selling point with this device is its laser navigation. The X8 uses a laser mapping system that is more precise than previous Eufy devices. It takes less time to build an extensive map of your home. It also has the ability to store multiple maps. This is great for multi-floored homes.

The X8 is a decent vacuum cleaner for floors with no dust. It is able to effortlessly sling debris under the side brushes and into the 400ml dustbin. The X8's tyres, despite their circular shape, are efficient at grabbing edges and corners. Our tests showed that it could only remove 90 percent of the fur from hard floors.

The basic mopping mode uses the same water reservoir as the vacuuming mode. While this is great for spills that are not too large but you cannot regulate the amount of water it consumes which can limit its effectiveness on more serious staining. That said, it does an excellent job of removing pet hair, and has a higher pickup rate than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

The company is known for its quiet home appliances Miele's RX2 robot vacuum has excellent cleaning power, stunning design, and a great navigation. It has some oddities in its operation that keep it from being named the top smart robot vacuum.

Similar to the latest models of iRobot like the RX2 features a dual-sensor mapping system which uses an LIDAR sensor to map the space and three 3D scanning cameras to identify and avoid obstacles (like furniture legs or pet waste) in real time. Once the room is mapped, the app lets you designate virtual no-go zones and preferred areas that the robot will clean automatically. You can also change the cleaning modes, start an automatic clean or watch live feeds from the cameras onboard from the main screen.

The RX2 has excellent sensors that can detect furniture and other obstructions immediately. The suction and sweeping abilities are exceptional, getting rid of surface litter from carpets of medium pile as well as embedded dust on floors. But it's not the most agile robot on the market. It's not the greatest climber, and it has problems with transition strips made of steel.

A lot of people purchase a robotic vacuum for the hands-off convenience of setting a schedule in an app and not thinking about it for weeks at a time. But it's important that a robot is able to do the job, which is why our ZDNet staff looked over and tested a number of the most well-known models to help you select the right one for your home.

4. Shark ION

This budget robovac that looks like any other, but has some extra features and a better performance. Its smart mapping system generates 3D and 2-D maps of your house and makes use of to navigate and stay clear of obstructions. Its rear dustbin is accessible for emptying, and removing the filters is also easy.

5. Eufy 11S

Eufy 11S is a good option if you're looking for a robot vacuum that's simple and doesn't have any frills at a cost that is low. It doesn't have many of the smart features, like digital mapping and Alexa integration, which are found in more expensive models, however, if you don't require these functions, you can save a little money with this model.

This robot is very easy to set up and use. It does not require a smartphone application or Wi-Fi pairing. However it does include an remote control that allows you to choose between different modes and alter the suction level. It also lets you manually send the robovac off on a scheduled cleaning.

Its self-navigating capabilities and environmental mapping are something to behold. It also comes with more advanced automation features than its competitors, such as the ability to create virtual boundary markers through its mobile application. Although the app isn't the most responsive and the 980 can spin a bit when crossing cables, it's an extremely efficient robot vacuum.

We love the 980, because it makes use of its iAdapt2.0 navigation sensors as well as visual simultaneity localisation and mapping (or vSLAM) to store your home's floor plan. It will use this information to create a consistent and efficient cleaning path through each cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient robot vacuum cleaner than the majority of high-end robots.

Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface rubber brushes which grab dirt from hard floors and carpet as well as an ejector brush that moves debris into the bin of the robotic vacuum.
