Panacell Biotech Co., Ltd. (CEO Seungho Choi) announced on December 18th, 2024 that it has successfully registered a domestic patent for "a method for producing whey-derived exosomes and a cosmetic composition containing exosomes produced using the said method."
 

Whey, the liquid separated from milk, is rich in protein and various nutrients, and its value in modern cosmetics is steadily increasing. In particular, exosomes extracted from whey contain genetic materials such as DNA and RNA, including growth factors and proteins. This makes them valuable not only as raw materials for cosmetics that promote skin regeneration and recovery but also as potential drug delivery vehicles for intestinal disease treatment. By incorporating siRNA, which inhibits the production of TNF-α involved in the generation of mRNA that affects intestinal diseases, whey exosomes can contribute to the development of intestinal treatments.
 

Through this patent registration, Panacell Biotech has laid the foundation for further enhancing the functionality of products for inflammatory bowel disease treatment and skin regeneration using whey-derived exosomes. This is expected to have a positive impact on providing innovative care solutions to patients and increasing the company's competitiveness.
 

Following the previous patent registration for the method of isolating and manufacturing NK stem cell-derived exosomes, Panacell Biotech has now secured another patent for the production of whey-derived exosomes, demonstrating its continuous technological innovation.
